Being thrown in the deep end isn’t necessarily a bad thing. With a ‘blank canvas’ to explore the problems, perspectives and possibilities of our exhibition, the group was initially overwhelmed by individuals’ impetus and ideas.
I felt it was important to create a forum for the presentation and discussion of ideas, so the group web log was created. The ‘blog’ has unveiled a multitude of artists and opinions. Through the regular posting we’ve managed to realise some of the preferences of each member: portraiture, nudity, environmental, minimal, natural, realist, fantastical, futurist.
This cornucopia of concepts may not look like progression on paper but when there’s an unregulated, unedited forum for the expression of ideas, it certainly feels like it.
Obviously optimistic, from all these ideas it is hoped that a clear direction and drive will, with a bit of luck, surface.
